Cervical check

Obgyn Clinic provides free cervical smear tests under Ireland’s National Cervical Check Programme.

This way of screening is called HPV ( ‘human papillomavirus’) cervical screening. It is offered to women aged between 25 to 65.

The test only takes a few minutes and it is the most effective way of detecting any changes in the cells of the cervix.  The earlier the cell changes are found the easier it will be to treat. The test covers all aspects of your cervical check appointment – taking the smear test, sending the sample to the lab, interpretation of the results and referral to hospital if necessary. The national cervical screening programme is quality assured, well organised and is managed by the national cancer screening service.

This is free of charge.
